Steps to take after a dog bite

Most dogs seem friendly. However, in the blink of an eye these animals can turn vicious, causing extensive damage to an unsuspecting individual. There are certain steps that individuals should take immediately after a dog bite to reduce the risks associated with them. Those who don't may be at an increased risk of infection, worsened medical conditions, more extensive disfigurement, and even death.

Bicycle safety is a priority for motorists and cyclists

Bicycle safety is a priority for everyone -- it takes more than just a bike rider's vigilance to avoid harm. People enjoy riding bicycles for a variety of reasons, including being able to get exercise and the thrill of spending time outside. Regardless of the reason, there is no excuse for a preventable accident.

Phoenix semi-truck accident kills two, injures two others

If you tend to grip your steering wheel tighter when you find yourself surrounded by semi-trucks, you're not alone. Many Phoenix area motorists are fearful of these big rigs, and for good reason. A truck that is being driven in a negligent manner can destroy a car and leave individuals with devastating, life-altering injuries. In the worst accidents, victims lose their lives. Fortunately, most semi-truck drivers operate their vehicles in a safe fashion. However, this isn't always the case, as may have been the case in one recent car accident right here in Phoenix.

Woman seriously injured in crash likely caused by intoxication

A recent car accident in Phoenix left one woman with injuries that are serious enough to threaten her life. According to reports, a car being driven by a 22-year-old man turned left into the vehicle being driven by the woman, causing her vehicle to roll. The woman was thrown from her vehicle as a result. She was subsequently rushed to the hospital. Five other individuals riding in her vehicle also suffered injuries.

Dog bites must be handled carefully to reduce the risks

Large dogs can bite with a force of 450 pounds per square inch. The area of the body where the attack occurs can have a part in how the victim fares afterward. In children who are 10 years old and younger, bites are most likely to be near the neck and head since this is the area that tends to be closest to a large dog's mouth. Most victims of dog bites are boys who are 5 to 9 years old.

Things to consider before settling a car accident claim

If you've been injured in a car accident caused by the negligence of another party, then you've probably got a lot on your mind. First and foremost, you're probably trying to figure out how to adjust to life given your newfound physical limitations, even if they are short-term. This can be enormously stressful and challenging. You're probably also thinking about how to make ends meet, especially if you've been hit with enormous medical expenses and have lost wages due to missed work.

What challenges do autonomous vehicles face on the road?

The self-driving car industry is trying to tell the public that these vehicles are safer than those driven by humans. While it is true that they do have many safeguards, accidents are still possible. It is imperative that anyone who is operating their vehicles around autonomous ones are aware of the risks.

The right help for motorcycle accident victims

A previous post here discussed a recent motorcycle accident that left a Phoenix-area man dead. Sadly, many motorists in Arizona have limited awareness of motorcyclists, which increases the chances of a serious motorcycle accident. Victims of these wrecks are often left with significant damages that can take a devastating toll on them for years to come. They may be subjected to physical limitations, and their emotional well-being may be put at risk due to the trauma inflicted upon them.
